Powells Jewellery has put together an exquisite selection of vintage, antique and contemporary fine jewellery, showcasing a variety of natureโs gemstones from all around the world
Join us as we journey through Brazil, Sri Lanka, Thailand and more, feasting your eyes on some of the luxury pieces we have to offer at Powells. Fine sapphires of all colours are found in Madagascar, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Blues range from a light cornflower to a deep-sea blue. Sapphires are also found in every other colour of the rainbow except for red which would make it ruby.
The most desired emeralds in the world come from Colombia, a rare find indeed. Other fine emeralds we offer can be found in Brazil, India and Zambia.
Rubies such as those in our art deco โshowstopperโ come from fascinating locations such as Thailand, Sri Lanka and of course Myanmar where the most exceptional gemstones are discovered. Such rarities can be discovered in Powellsโ antique collection.
Perhaps the most famous of all gemstones, the diamond, is sourced from numerous locations around the globe, but most notably from South Africa. You will find it as the โheroโ gemstone in many of pieces and it is also used to complement other gems in rare and one-of-a-kind designs.
We cannot forget to mention the Queen of the gems, the pearl, her lustrous beauty comes from being grown in the warm waters of the South Sea, Japanese waters and for the most decadent black pearls, Tahiti. Tourmalines in greens, pinks and blues come mostly from Brazil as do aquamarines. You can see beautiful examples in our pink and green tourmaline dress ring.
