CHESTER CHRISTMAS MARKET
Chester Christmas Market runs until Wednesday 20th December. There are over 70 traditional wooden chalets, packed with seasonal delights, including quality local and regional products, crafts, clothing, accessories, jewellery, unique gifts and handmade stocking fillers.
Make time for a mulled wine or indulgent hot chocolate to keep toasty whilst you shop!
CHESTER ZOO ILLUMINATIONS
The Lanterns at Chester Zoo feature huge animal lanterns including full scale giraffes, lions and elephants. The kids will marvel over the illuminated life-sized animals as they journey around the zoo with their own little cup lanterns including a flickering LED tealight.
Running on selected dates until 30th December.
CHARITY DINNER DANCE | PLOUGH AND FLAIL
You can really get into the Swing of things on the 8th December with a Charity Dinner Dance at the cosy country oub, the Plough and Flail, Mobberley. Ryan Island will be singing Rat Pack classics, Michael Buble hits and some great winter wonderland favourites. Arrive at 7.30pm for a sparkling, sounds of swing reception in the conservatory followed by a delicious 3 -course dinner, with coffee and mince pies.
The party continues in the bar with Ryan Island for an unforgetable Christmas party. So, get your dancing shoes on and head to the Plough and Flail. There'll be a raffle auction on the night in aid of their chosen charity, MS Society Cheshire East.
MANCHESTER CHRISTMAS MARKETS
It's not Christmas without a trip to Manchester's markets, and this year there'll be an extra day of shopping on the 21st.
The main markets are based in Albert Square, in front of Manchester Town Hall, with a traditional German market on St Ann's Square, a world market on Brazennose Street and a French market on King Street.
CHRISTMAS FLORAL EXTRAVAGANZA | ARLEY HALL AND GARDENS
Head to the stunning Arley Hall from 2nd to 7th, to see the estate decked out with hundreds of fresh flowers in a Winter Wonderland theme. Local children will be decorating Christmas trees in the Cruck Barn and there'll be two Candlelight and Carols evenings. Florist Carl Wilde will be staging floral demonstrations and there'll be plenty of festive treats to indulge in, courtesy of The Gardener’s Kitchen.
SANTA PAWS DOG WALKING CLUB | MOBBERLEY
If you need to clear your head on the 9th December, then the Plough and Flail have just the thing with their Santa Paws Dog Walking Club. Arrival is at 10.30 at the pub for a spot of breakfast and a much- needed coffee, followed by a walk around Mobberley before heading back to the pub for lunch. They will also be holding a ‘best dressed’ for dogs and their owners, so get your outfits ready. It's chilly out there... so wrap up warm!
PROSECCO FESTIVAL | ALBERT HALL
Manchester’s Albert Hall is bringing plenty of sparkle to the season with a Christmas prosecco festival.
There'll be 10 fizz stations featuring at least 15 types of tfizz to sample. Bellini bars and Italian street food stalls will also fill the main floor of the former Wesleyan chapel for the event on Friday December 15th. One not to miss!
PLOUGH & FLAIL QUIZ OF THE YEAR
The 14th December is the long- awaited Plough and Flail Quiz of the Year. Be there with your team mates for 7.30pm for a chance to win cash prizes, wine and a seasonal selection of gift vouchers. Entry is £1 per person, with a maximum of 6 people per team. Time to brush up on your trivia...
MEET FATHER CHRSTMAS | QUARRY BANK MILL
Take the little ones to meet Santa on 9th December at Quarry Bank mill for a spot of storytelling, plenty of games and crafts. Sessions are 30 minutes each and selling out quickly.
Suitable for children up to 10 years.
ROAST AND RAMBLE
Enjoy a crisp winter's walk around Mobberley on the 15th to build up your appetite for a delicious roast at the Plough and Flail, Mobberley. Relax and unwind with a pint or a glass of mulled wine. And be sure to join in for National Christmas Jumper Day! Make sure you’re looking your festive best.
CHRISTMAS CAROLS IN THE STABLEYARD | TATTON PARK
Join the annual Christmas Carols event at Tattom Park on 23rd December featuring a live band and plenty of festive favourites. .The Twelve Days of Christmas Mansion will open its doors for the last time this Christmas, so take the opportunity to enjoy a spot of shopping and search out a last minute present in the gift shop.
TEA AND TOAST WITH SANTA
On the 16th December, Santa himself will be paying a visit to the Plough and Flail. Bring the little ones for tea and toast and a present from the man himself. Make sure they’ve made their lists ready for posting off to the North Pole.
