A TRADITIONAL TWIST: Ametsa's Basque Afternoon Tea

If you are a fan of tapas and of the insitution that is afternoon tea (and particularly if finger sandwiches are really not your thing), you’ll want to nip along to the Halkin’s new Belgravia High Tea. Served Monday to Sunday from 2.30pm until 5pm,  this is an afternoon tea with a Spanish twist, created by the hotel’s Michelin-star restaurant, Ametsa with Arzak Instruction, and including such Basque delights as duck and shallot skewers, Idiazabal sandwich, broken eggs on waffles, rose-petal tempura, quince balls and dropped rice pudding cone, complemented by a chilled glass of cava or cocktail.

£32 (£36 with cava or cocktail) (comohotels.com/thehalkin)
